July 2018

First Things First:
I apologize. I haven’t sent out a newsletter all year! Yes, our family had a lot going on (stay tuned for family news!), but our friends need to know what is going on! Please forgive me. Communication is a priority so please check us out on Facebook (facebook.com/hishandsvaldosta) and read all our news and subscribe to our blog.

2018 News:
In May, we wrapped up our 18th year of His Hands Bible Club! In addition to our weekly meetings, we went on a field trip to the Cane Maze and had an Easter Egg hunt in the park. In our classrooms, we added books, logic games/puzzles, and Lego sets: Educational resources that many of us take for granted in our homes. They have been a hit! Next week the kids who had excellent attendance and behavior are going to Wild Adventures!

This year, we began writing our own Bible Club curriculum (thank you, Mrs. Nancy!). Because many of our kids do not read on grade level, we are usually left with choosing between lessons they struggle to follow along with, or lessons that are too baby-ish and unrelatable. Our ultimate goal is to collect all of our lessons and publish them so that other ministries like ours can benefit.

We are super proud of our high school grads, Terri and Leon! Terri and Leon have both been a part of His Hands since they were little. They are fantastic kids and we are excited to see what they do next!

Upcoming:

We are collecting school supplies so that our kids can start the year well-equipped. We especially need:
1. Loose-leaf paper
2. Composition books
3. Spiral Notebooks and
4. Pencils/Pens.

New Covenant Church on Bemiss Road is our drop-off spot during normal hours or during Sunday morning service.

If you don’t want to shop (don’t blame you!), you can give by mailing a check to P.O. Box 3903 Valdosta, GA 31604 or online at hishandsministry.org

Thank you for BEING His Hands!

Love, Mary and The Kids
